Brief Bio
Donna Minnis, Ph.D.
Executive Director, Pemaquid Watershed Association
Donna brings a mix of biological and sociological expertise to her service as Pemaquid Watershed Association’s Executive Director. Donna’s undergraduate and Master’s degrees focused on wildlife biology and management. For her doctorate degree, which she received from Michigan State University in 1996, she turned her emphasis to the human element in the natural resources conservation equation, focusing on conflict resolution and public involvement. From 1996 to 2000, she served on faculty at Mississippi State University, teaching and doing research on people’s attitudes, values and behaviors about wildlife and conservation. While in Mississippi, she led the revitalization of an animal welfare charity, giving her experience in administration of a 501(c)3 volunteer-based organization. Since moving to Maine in 2001, she has gained experience in office and personnel management and marketing through a variety of jobs, including serving as an Office Manager of a real estate company on Mount Desert Island for 3 years. Donna has been Executive Director of the Pemaquid Watershed Association since December 2006.
