The PWA has its origins in the Biscay Pond Association, formed in 1966 by residents concerned about unsound development. The organization gradually grew in response to the interests and con-cerns of landowners throughout the Pemaquid River watershed. Spurred by unprecedented development pressures, PWA became a land trust in 1988. As a land trust, we use conservation easements and land acquisition to protect the beauty and natural integrity of the watershed. Our Watershed Watch Newsletter for Spring 2008 explained our beginnings on Page 8. More recently, LCTV helped us produce this video to provide an overview of PWA..
A Financial Statement for 2010-2011 is available here. You also might enjoy our Fall 2011 Newsletter and our updated PWA Brochure, both downloadable as pdf files.
The keystone of PWA's success is its base of enthusiastic members. Read more about the benefits of joining PWA!
