You will notice we did not schedule a paddle for this weekend due to Labor Day weekend however Diane Gilman and I have just come up with a paddle for Saturday 9/5 at 10 AM for those of you who might be available. We are proposing a paddle to Indiantown Island to include lunch (brink your own) and a 30 minute hike (bring hiking shoes) on the Island. Half of the Island is a BRLT preserve and Diane knows the Island well as she is an administrative assistant at BRLT. Directions: Take Route 27 from Route 1 toward Boothbay for 9.6 miles to the monument in Boothbay. Bear right at the monument onto Barter’s Island Road for 1.75 miles and then a left over the bridge to the Knickercane boat launch on the left where there is public rest room. The paddle duration will be about 2 1/2 hours. Advisory: This trip involves ocean paddling. Call me at 563-3104 for any questions. Due to timing, there will be no press release for this paddle so please let any friends of yours know who might not be on the e-mail list.
