The Pemaquid Watershed Association PWA Paddlers will paddle the New Meadows River in East Brunswick on Saturday 9/19, at 11 AM (a change from 10 AM, as low tide will be at 9:25 at the put in, Howard Point).
Directions: From Damariscotta take Route 1 South through Bath. Continue on Route 1 and take the New Meadows exit turning left onto New Meadows Road for about a mile and then right onto Old Bath Road. The park entrance and public boat ramp/put in will be about a quarter mile on your left. Look for the green sign for Sawyer Park and the public boat ramp, just past the marina. The paddle duration will be 2 1/2 hours and a public rest room is available at the park; optional lunch at a restaurant in Bath. The paddle leaders will be Peter Lawrence and Diane Gilman
All paddles are free and open to the public. Paddlers must supply their own kayak or canoe, wear a life jacket and bring, or have on file, a standard release form which is available at PWA’s website or from the paddle leader. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The paddle will be cancelled in the event of rain, fog, thunder activity or small craft warnings.
