Visiting with old and new friends, good food, a report from the Bristol Dam Advisory Committee, and a presentation on “Bringing Nature Home” in Maine will take place at Pemaquid Watershed Association’s annual meeting on Wednesday, July 19, at Lakehurst Lodge in Damariscotta. The general public is invited to join PWA members for the traditional potluck supper starting at 5:00 p.m., followed by a business meeting.
Following the business meeting will be a report by Claire Enterline, chair of the Bristol Dan Advisory Committee, to provide an update of the work of the committee. Capping the evening will be a presentation by Eric Topper, Director of Education at Maine Audubon, about Maine Audubon’s new community engagement and habitat stewardship initiative called “Bringing Nature Home”. Topper will explore the plants, practices and perks involved in restoring native food webs in our gardens, yards and communities.
At the end of the meeting a drawing for PWA’s cash raffle will be held for a chance to win $500. Tickets are $25 and only 100 tickets will be sold. They can be purchased online, at PWA’s office at 584 Main St. Damariscotta, or at the Annual Meeting. Proceeds from the raffle support PWA’s work.
Attendees are asked to arrive by 4:30 p.m. and bring a dinner item to share so that the dinner can begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. To reach Lakehurst Lodge, travel two miles down Biscay Rd to Egypt Rd. Turn left onto Egypt Rd and travel 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Lakehurst Lane finding the lodge on the left with parking on the right.
