PWA to Paddle the Woolwich Marsh

View from Pemaquid Paddler's kayak

The Pemaquid Watershed Association Paddlers will paddle the Woolwich Marsh from the Robert E. DeWick Recreation Area on Saturday, 5/30, at 10 AM. A special feature of this paddle is a visit to the alewives run. Please arrive 20 minutes prior. Directions: From Damariscotta travel Route 1 South past the blinking light at the Woolwich Fire Station/Nequasset Road for another 1/8th mile. Take the second entrance (on left further south) onto George Wright Road (before the Taste of Maine restaurant). The put in and parking area is on your immediate right. The duration of the paddle will be about 2 hours; no public rest room; optional lunch at the Montsweag Roadhouse restaurant. The paddle is free and open to the public. Paddlers must supply their own kayak or canoe and wear a personal flotation device (life jacket). Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The paddle will be cancelled in the event of rain. For the entire 2015 schedule, please visit the PWA web site at http://www.pemaquidwatershed.org/water/pwa-paddlers/ or contact Peter Lawrence at 563-7663 or paddlers@pemaquidwatershed.org.
